Tibetan Singing Bowls

We incorporate authentic 7-metal Tibetan Singing Bowls and Tingshas into our music sessions.   The sounds travel from the outer ear throughout the body via the vagus nerve — impacting brain waves, respiratory rate and heart rate and the parasympathetic nervous system.  Sound and vibration help facilitate a deep sense of inner peace, and a relaxation of tension and blocked energy.  The vibrations work at a cellular level to rebalance the body mind and spirit.  Singing Bowls are ancient tools for healing and have been played for thousands of years in meditation, ceremony and rituals.

'Tools of transformation

the ringing gathers positive energy

and force

to fight back against forces of negativity and destruction

giving connection and even teachings

affecting people and surroundings even if they cannot physically hear it.

peaceful sound giving.'

DOWNLOAD OUR    RELAX APP for Android

Feeling upset, out of control, a bit anxious? Train yourself to Respond versus React. Press RELAX and let the sound 'melt' you. DON'T MOVE. DON'T SPEAK. Whatever aggravating, stressful or annoying situation is coming at you - just let it be. Focus on the relaxing Singing Bowl sound and image. The aggravating stimulus will find your brain's dorsal neural network vs. the medial network giving your stressed out adrenals a break and your brain a chance to form a rational response. Relax also stimulates the vagus nerve to calm the body with healing sound.

You can train yourself to remain calm in stressful situations!

We have given interactive Healing Music sessions at adult daycare and other sites in Milwaukee County since 2012.  Clients, staff and community members participate with singing, playing percussion, movement and dance in a positive energetic environment.  The sessions feature a relaxing and meditative component through the sounding of Tibetan Singing Bowls.

We observe the ages, conditions and environment and choose appropriate songs.

We create a space for small group, visit bedside patients, or visit your home. KT is also currently taking the Tibetan Singing Bowls to Hospice and home.

        Listen to Rising Sun

We hope for you to leave us with a melodically based POSITIVE message that you can carry the rest of the day or longer.  This has been a goal for all of our sessions and from our feedback surveys - great success.

"Our clients are so energized after the sessions and love the inter-activeness and contributing music in  shaking the shakers, beating the drums and even dancing.  Catholic Charities

*****SOME PERSONAL NOTES*****

We have been playing Universal Love Band  with a Community Service Music Mission since 2006.  In 2011 we started a bedside music program on weekends at  Children's Hospital of Wisconsin.  This transforming project is now called  UNIVERSAL LOVE Healing Music.  Since then we have developed sites to play for vulnerable populations.  We take our music to people with disabilities, rehab patients, frail elders, hospice and others who can't easily access live music.   We play positive-vibed songs and end our sessions with the subtle, peace-inducing sounds of Tibetan Singing Bowls.  This project is about friendship, sharing music and cherishing others -- whoever they may be, in the moments that we spend together in a healing music space. We have played for babies in comas, 95 year olds, people living with dementia and people rehabbing from head injuries, people with serious chronic conditions who attend Adult Day Care, and kids quarantined with infectious disease.   We create a warm circle of deep respect that includes our clients, as well as staff if they choose to participate, and then we  just open our hearts and give what we love-- inspiring music.   We are dedicated to this project.   kt  03/2015

More about Tibetan Singing Bowls.

a unique sound that can be heard and holistically processed

and also a physical vibration that can be sensed and felt.

sound that awakens

and expands consciousness.

a relaxation response in the body and the mind.

Our Bowls and Tingshaws have received the Blessings of Mystical Arts of Tibet tour Lamas from Drepung Loseling Monastery in Exile of South India

"According to singing bowl researcher Joseph Feinstein, singing bowls were traditionally used in Asia and the tradition of making sound with bronze bowls could go back 3,000 or more years to the Bronze Age.

Singing bowls are used worldwide for meditation, music, relaxation, personal well-being. They are used by a wide range of professionals, including health professionals, school teachers, musicians and spiritual teachers. Singing bowls are used in health care by psychotherapists, massage therapists, cancer specialists, stress and meditation specialists. They are used to help treat cancer patients and also for post traumatic stress disorder.

Antique singing bowls produce harmonic  overtones creating an effect that is unique to the instrument. The subtle yet complex multiple harmonic frequencies are a special quality caused by variations in the shape of the hand made singing bowls. The art of making singing bowls in the traditional way is often called a lost art, but traditional craftsmen still make singing bowls in the traditional manner. They are one of the longest made traditional objects still being made today."  Wikipedia

A Note to a Supporter on Facebook

"Thanks for your support. We need to keep making a case for our work. I wish you and more people could witness what happens.   Friday we took people to a whole different space.-- out of confusion and depression and into a lighter place of smiles, happiness, participation and more. We have photos from Friday that really demonstrate the process.  We know, without a doubt, that in these moments together with the music that we give, that wonderful, intangible, deep goodness is working deep in the cells and souls of the participants."
